Foods to stay clear from
- Frosting
- Bagels
- Processed baked goods (Donuts)
- Butter
- Bacon
Frosting may be quite deceiving... or should I say most definitely deceiving. It tastes delicious on top of a cookie or cake but what you don't know is, that it is one of the few things inside of a grocery store that contains trans fats...yes I said it... TRANS FATS! I repeat trans fats. These are beyond terrible for anyones health and no one should be consuming them. This of course isn't that simple when there are young children in the house or when you are a child. I remember when I was a kid, my friends and I would take these tubes of frosting to my room with a spoon and polish them off like it was nothing. How could I do that to myself?
Yum bagels! Everyone loves bagels... how could you not? They come in all different kinds and you can put an array of assortment on them. Bagels may be the most carb dense food you can put into your mouth. Not only that but they have a high glycemic index. Now you may not know what that means or even care. But for those who have trouble with there skin most definitely want to stay away from them. This high index is prone for break outs in acne.... and no one likes acne.
Its always easy to grab something that is already pre-made for a quick snack if you are running late for school or work. Yeah... they may have that quick sugar rush you need but little do you know it is going to wear off and you will hit a crash. So stay away! Too many unwanted calories for something that doesn't even taste that great. Skip the wrapped stuff.. go for fresh stuff!
Butter.... yes butter makes everything taste SO much better. But it is loaded with trans fats and trans fats once again are not good for your body. Maybe you can't completely eliminate butter from your diet but you should most definitely be able to limit it as much as possible. It will pay off in the long run.
The smell of crispy bacon is quite magnificent, am I right? Especially when you are waking up to it. It may only have 45 calories in one strip but it is extremely high in fat, sodium, and the sodium preservative nitrate.. So you may want to reconsider when you take 5 pieces of bacon the next morning.
